SALIENT FEATURES ON DELEGATION

1. THE TOPICS FOR THE SEMINAR : (A) Oriental Heritage : (i) Veda & Upanisad : (a) Veda as the root of Indian religion, (b) Society as depicted in the Vedas, (c) Teachings of the Upanisads. (ii) Epics : (a) The Ramayana– Literary value of the Ramayana, (ii) The Mahabharata–What the Mahabharata can teach us? (iii) Indian Philosophy : (a) Basics of Indian philosophy, (b) Nature of Atman in the Vais´esika philosophy. (iv) Pura na Literature : Number and division of the Puranas. (v) Sanskrit literature & Poetics–Classical Sanskrit Literature : (a) Origin of Sanskrit drama, (b) Critical appreciation of Bhasa's dramas (please select any one only), (c) Critical appreciation of Kalidasa's Kavya-s (please select any one only). (vi) Modern Sanskrit Literature : (a) Contribution of Haridasa SiddhantavagIs´a to Sanskrit literature, (b) Contribution of Srijiva Nyayat jirtha to Sanskrit literature. (vii) Sanskrit poetics : (a) Schools of Sanskrit poetics, (b) Contribution of Aandavardhana to Sanskrit poetics. (viii) History : (a) An estimate of historical literature in Sanskrit, (b) Banabhatta as an historian. (ix) Religion : Salient features of Hindu religion. (x) Vedanga & Other Scientific literature in Sanskrit : Works on (a) Astronomy, (b) Etymology, (c) Astrology, (d) Ayurveda (e) Sanskrit Grammar (Please select one only). (xi) Fine Arts : Varieties of Indian dance forms. (B) Jyotish, (C) Vastu Shastra, (D) Tantra Shastra, (E) Numerology. The discourses will be conducted in Sanskrit, English, Bengali & Hindi. In addition to the above topics, if anyone has undertaken researches in any other allied subject, he/she is most welcome to deliver speech on that topic. Intending participants must send their lecture papers as early as possible. Nobody will be allowed to deliver lecture unless he/she sends the same at least 15 days before the conference. Seminar lectures must be research-oriented, less time-consuming, precise and objective. The lecturer has to satisfy any query from the audience. The best man Seminar Lecturer will be honoured as the 'Man of the year 2018' and the best woman Seminar Lecturer will be honoured as the 'Woman of the year 2018'.

2. COMPETITION FOR GREAT SCHOLARS : Great scholars of Oriental Learning and other allied subjects will be chosen from among competitors on the merit shown in their research articles presented for the same and will be duly honoured with befitting titles.

3. ON DELEGATION : (a) Scholar of Oriental Learning may join the Conference as delegate and he/she will be offered nice accommodation. The registration fee for each delegate will be Rs 5000.00 (Rupees five thousand only). He/she will be honoured and felicitated with Tilak, Flowers, Angabastra on the dias. He/she will be provided with accommodation and vegetarian food from 03-2-2018 to  07-2-2018.
(b) Non-residential Delegates : Those delegates who will have their own arrangement of food and lodging will have to pay a delegate fee of Rs.1000.00 each. The non-residential delegate will be honoured & felicitated with Tilak, Flowers, Angabastra. All delegates will be provided with lunch and tea in the Conference campus. Delegates must collect their lunch coupons within 12 noon each day.
(c) Honour to Delegates : All delegates will be Awarded with Mahamahopadhyay Pdt. Murarimohan Vedantaditirtha Sastri Memorial Award.
(d) Delegate Form : A delegate form is enclosed herewith which should be duly filled in with delegate fees paid in Cash/ M.O./D.D. drawn in favour of Indian Institute of Oriental Heritage and sent to Indian Institute of Oriental Heritage 8, Ashutosh Seal Lane, Kolkata-700009. Each delegate is to affix one passport size photograph in the space alloted in the form. No cheque will be accepted.
(e) Delegates on arrival at New Delhi : Delegates, on arrival at New Delhi, are requested to report to the Office of the Indian Institute of Oriental Heritage Balananda Guest House, Chittaranjan Park Kali Mandir, Room No. A/1, Greater Kailash-II, New Delhi-110019, Ph.8510892468/9830018739/9312246484 till the day before conference. Those who would arrive on the day of conference may go straight to Shri Adya Katyayani Shaktipeeth Auditoeium, Chhattarpur, Mehrauli,New Delhi-110048 and contact our camp office there. All delegates must carry their Govt. recognized photo identity proof.
4. PROGRAMME HIGHLIGHTS : February 04, 2018, Sunday, Jagadguru Sankaracharya Day; Inaugural Ceremony at 11.50 a.m., lighting of 40 lamps; opening song; felicitation of distinguished guests with tilak, flowers, angabastra, speeches by the Inaugurator, Chief Guest and Special Guests, Address of Welcome, closing of the inaugural Ceremony, vote of thanks; from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.—Lunch break; 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. garlanding and wearing of angabastra, introduction of foreign and Indian delegates, floral ovation; 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.—Seminar Session. Closer of the First day Conference at 7 p.m.
February 05, 2018, Monday, Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansadev Day; Inaugural Ceremony at 11.00 a.m., lighting of 40 lamps, opening song; felicitation of distinguished guests with tilak, flowers, angabastra, speeches by the Inaugurator, Chief Guest and Special Guests, closing of inaugural ceremony, vote of thanks; from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Seminar Session; from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.—Lunch Break; 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.—Seminar Session resumed. Closer of the Second day Conference at 7 p.m.
February 06, 2018, Tuesday, Swami Vivekananda Day; Inaugural Ceremony at 11 a.m., lighting of 40 lamps; opening song; felicitation of distinguished guests and delegates with tilak, flowers, angabastra, speeches by the Inaugurator, Chief Guest, Special Guests, closing of inaugural ceremony; vote of thanks; from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Seminar Session; from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.—Lunch Break; 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.—Seminar Session resumed. Closer of the 40th Conference.

5. AWARDS AND TITLES : (A) LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD A scholar having immense contribution in the field of Oriental Learning and having publication of articles in reputed magazines may enjoy the elevated status as stated above. Intending person may apply with registration fees of Rs. 50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand only) to our Institute office.
(B) FELLOWSHIP OF INDIAN INSTITUTE OF ORIENTAL HERITAGE is dedicated to restore the lost glory of different streams of Oriental Learning having a superb force to ignite World Peace and Progress, is open to those scholarly personalities who would donate over Rs.15,000/- for the successful implementation of Institute's dynamic programmes. Conferment of Fellowship of the Institute would be inspiration-evoking.
